How to Safeguard a Palm-Size PC

July 1999 --You love your Windows CE Palm-size PC (P/PC) because it is powerful, yet small and easy to carry everywhere. Unfortunately, the features you love also make it easy to lose, increase opportunities for damage, and make it a theft target. Here are some suggestions to keep you and your P/PC inseparable:
- Don't let your P/PC out of your sight. Carry it with you wherever you go. Get a carrying case that fits your work style so you will want to carry everywhere. This not only helps keep your P/PC safe, it also makes you more productive.
- If you use your P/PC a lot, the screen is bound to get dusty or dirty. Keep clean, lint-free cloths in your home, office, and carrying case.
- Carry a spare battery. And don't forget to have a spare for the backup battery, too (some units like the Philips Nino have backup batteries that cannot be replaced by the user though).
- Finally, if your P/PC is not behaving the way you want it to, don't get angry and tap the LCD screen too hard with your stylus. Any relationship based on violence is not going to work.
