I have exact the same problem. New Acer Aspire One, so battery is new too, with fresh Ubuntu 9.10 UNR installation. No hardware problems except for the battery. Panel indicator says battery is "fully charged" while in fact it is empty. and is never recharging. Unhooking the AC cable will instantly kill everything.

To me this looks like some software/driver bug: Ubuntu somehow thinking the battery is full (and therefore never triggering a recharge) while in fact it's empty. I would like to report this as a possible bug, but Iḿ not sure where (must confess I'ḿ new to Ubuntu). Can someone tell me what's the best place to report this? The main Ubuntu site? Or the UNR site? Or some specialized Ubuntu hardware problems forum?

Thx

Installed NBR 9.10 on a HP mini 110 and it doesn't charge my battery. If you have to have the thing off to charge the battery...whats the point of using NBR?

My acer aspire 3660 was running 9.04, no problem, and I did the 9.10 upgrade..... Its my main system so I was really out of it and I lost everything trying to be clever. So I reinstalled 9.04. I recently tried to boot from a 9.10 usb, and it stalled. I run ubuntu on loads of other (peoples) systems without a problem???

Hi, I also have the same issue. If you have found a solution for the problem I would love to hear about it.

Cheers

Get the Ubuntu 9.04 NBR live CD on a USB stick and boot off that. This will soon tell you if it's Ubuntu 9.10, though in all likelihood I would say its not. I have had no problems on my Dell Mini 9 since upgrading.
