New Acer Aspire One, so battery is new too, with fresh Ubuntu 9.10 UNR installation. No hardware problems except for the battery. To me this looks like some software/driver bug: Ubuntu somehow thinking the battery is full (and therefore never triggering a recharge) while in fact it's empty. Its my main system so I was really out of it and I lost everything trying to be clever. So I reinstalled 9.04. I recently tried to boot from a 9.10 usb, and it stalled. I run ubuntu on loads of other (peoples) systems without a problem??? My acer aspire 3660 was running 9.04, no problem, and I did the 9.10 upgrade….. This will soon tell you if it's Ubuntu 9.10, though in all likelihood I would say its not. I have had no problems on my Dell Mini 9 since upgrading.
