I installed the vmware tools by compiling them as described in the previous post.
When I start the vmware-toolbox utility or the vmware-user utility i get a warning that it cannot find the libgnomebreakpad.so file. I'm not sure what this is or what features are not working properly because of it?

Any help appreciated

I've tried it. On the plus side, VMWare split the tools package into independent installs of different features, and instead of dying outright it will move onto the next attempt to install a feature if the current failed. This is what happened to me; 3-4 of the features failed but some succeeded, and the install ends with "VMWare Tools Installed Successfully" although that may be overstating the case.

I do see that I can now cut-n-paste to/from Windows.

PS Kernel is 2.6.23.9-85.fc8 and I did install "kernel-devel" package before running the install.
